How to Unjailbreak An iPhone: iPhones come with a preinstalled operating system called iOS. This operating system has a lot of restriction in terms of what it allows the user to do, the most notable being that it only allows you to install a single app store, the apple app store. This means that they get to decide which apps can be added to the iPhone.
Jailbreaking an iPhone means installing a third party version of the operating system that doesn’t include these restrictions. In common terms, they download the OS, change the code in it to remove restrictions and add features (custom app store, etc) and distribute this altered version of the OS.
Jailbreaking just means porting this new, sort of bastardized version of the OS on to your iPhone. It’s called jail BREAKing because apple doesn’t allow you to change the OS and so to do so you have to in a sense break the device.
