Top Govt Schemes For Women Empowerment: As we know the development, progress and success of any society are directly related to the population of the society. So without the development of both the men and women, we can not imagine the prosperity of a society and a country.

To empower the situation of women, the government has launched many schemes. These Sarkari Yojana (Govt Schemes) are helpful for women to fight against violence and discrimination against them.

1. StreeSwabhimaan Yojana

Launched On: It is also called Nari Swabhiman Yojana, launched on 27 January 2018 with the help of CSC (Common Services Centre ).

Aim: The main purpose of this Scheme is the health and hygiene of women. Mostly Women do not take care of their health. About 85 % of the female population does not use Sanitary pads during the menstrual cycle. Through this program, the government is promoting the use of pads. In the rural area, girls will get free sanitary pads, which are better than the pads available in the market and Bio-Degradable.

2. Beti Bachao, BetiPadhao

Launched On:  It is launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi On 22 January 2015 in Panipat.  In 1991 the child ratio for age 0-6 was 945 girls per 1000 boys which were declined to 918 by the year 2011. To lessen the difference between girls & boys ration, the government came with this program.

Aim: The main aim of this scheme was as follow:

  • To prevent the abortion of the female fetus.
  • To ensure the protection and prosperity of the girl child.
  • To ensure the education and participation of females.

3. One-Stop Centre Scheme

Launched On:  Implemented on 1 April 2015, this scheme is also known as “Sakhi”. It is Started by the Finance Ministry with the help of 1000 Crore “Nirbhaya Fund”. One Stop Centre will be provided help to the victims of Sexual harassment, domestic violence, acid attack, etc.

Aim: One-stop center aims to support the women who face any type of violence both in public and private places. to fight against any kind of humiliation it is also provided immediate and emergency nonmedical access to legal, psychological as well as counseling add.

4. Ujjawala Yojana

Launched On:  Modi Government launched this scheme on 1 May 2016 in Balia, Utter Pradesh. Under PMUY, the government provides domestic LPG gas connections to families who are living below the poverty line (BPL).

Aim: It targets about 8 crore BPL families to provide free LPG connections in the name of women. The main objective of this scheme are :

  • Decrease the number of deaths of women in the rural areas which are caused by harmful cooking methods.
  • To ensure the protection of women.
  • Get rid of health problems in young children due to the indoor air pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuel.

5. Swadhar Greh

Launched On: There are many women who do not have a home to live and food to eat. To provide shelter and security to such helpless women and to make them self – depend, the SwadharGrih Yojana is implemented by the government in 2015.

Aim: This Scheme Aims to 

  • Give shelter, food, and clothes to impoverished women.
  • Give Emotional Support.
  • Provide legal assistance.
  • To strengthen women financially.
  • Motivate destitute women to live with self-respect and perseverance.
  • Provided self-employment training to women.
