Currently, you can only add up to 8 people’s and in a Whatsapp group video calls. Although the group video call feature is perfect for personal video calls, it’s not suitable for online meetings. Compared to Whatsapp group video calls, the Whatsapp room supports up to 50 contacts at a time. So, you can do video calls and held an online meeting with up to 50 people’s at the same time.
This is the reason Whatsapp had to separate this feature from the old group video call feature. But, there are some limitations of using this feature on Whatsapp.
Because you can only use this feature on the web version of Whatsapp, so, you can’t use your smartphone to use it. You have to use it on your laptop or PC. It’ll redirect you to the Facebook Room option, from where you can do video calls with up to 50 peoples at a time.
You have to use your Facebook account to use this feature. As this is a unique feature, and meant to be used for online meeting purposes, it’s okay to use it on laptop or PC because most of the users use their laptop to do online meetings.

How to Use Whatsapp Room Feature?
- First, open web.whatsapp.com in the browser of your laptop or PC.
- You’ll see a QR code there. You have to go to Whatsapp app on your smartphone then select the ‘Whatsapp web’ option to log in using the QR code. Just scan the QR code to log in.
- When you successfully log into Whatsapp web, you’ll see three dots on the upper corner. Click on it.
- Now, select, Create a Room option from there.
- It’ll redirect you to the Facebook messenger room. Now, you can create a room there and add your contacts to do group video calls.
